Download (AND DISTRIBUTE!) the "Anything but Green" Promotional Poster The jury and voting process of this show will take place entirely online. The winning pieces will be displayed in the Artwork Network Showroom. Theme The theme, however you feel to interpret it, is “Anything but Green”. All media will be accepted but will be judged based on the digital representation of the work. Eligibility Open to artists who are 18 years of age or older living in the US or abroad. Entry Fees Maximum of 3 entries per artist $15 per entry $10 per entry for Artwork Network members Deadlines All entries due: Sunday November 15th, 2009. No entries accepted after this date. Public Voting period: December 3rd - 29th, 2009 Notification of winners via phone and email: January 6th, 2010 Winners Announced: January 8, 2010 via the Artwork Network E-Newsletter and Website Winning work must be received and ready to hang no later than: Monday January 18th, 2010 Showcase: February 17th, 2010 - March 19th, 2010 Jurors The following jurors were invited to participate: Ivar Ziele - Ivar Zeile is the owner and director of Plus Gallery, a progressive contemporary art gallery and exhibition space that supports emerging talent as well as nationally recognized artists in a variety of media. Operating independently since 2001, the gallery consistently garners recognition for it's exhibition program through local and national press, making it one of the top contemporary spaces in Denver. Plus Gallery is a member of the Denver Art Dealers Association, the River North Art District and the Lodo District. Zeile currently serves on the board of a variety of prominent art organizations including PlatteForum, the Denver Art Museum's DAM Contemporaries, and community arts incubator Redline. Zeile has been a member of the Denver Mayor's Commission for Cultural Affairs since 2006. Jessica Bradley - Creative Director of Artwork Network Alan Kircher - Owner and CEO of Artwork Network Michael Keen –Michael is the Owner and Director of Gallery Cuvée in Denver, Colorado. He also owns and operates Studio 6 Coffee House at 910 Santa Fe Drive and is the host of the “Untitled Art Show” Podcast. Public Voting Process The public will cast their votes online during the public voting period. One vote per person. Participating artists are ineligible to vote, but are encouraged to tell all their friends! Votes may be submitted through the website or emailed to vote@artworknetwork.com. Votes must contain the title of the piece as well as the name and email address of the person submitting the vote. Votes by participating artists, multiple votes by one person and votes we determine to have been placed by one person using multiple false email addresses will not be added to the total. Jury Voting Process The jury will collectively choose the top three winners. Considerations of the jury will include: how effectively the work reflects the theme “Anything But Green”, artistic expression and lasting impression. Determining Winners There will be two winning categories. All entries will be considered in both categories. One category will be decided by the Jury and one category will be decided by public vote. Three winners will be chosen in both categories. Prizes Winner of Public Vote: First Prize - 10% of total Entry Fees - One Year New Artist Membership or Renewal ($619 value) - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom during month of Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* Second Prize - 5% of total Entry Fees - $50 Artwork Network Gift Certificate - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom in Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* Third Prize - $25 Artwork Network Gift Certificate - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom in Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* Jury Selections: First Prize - 10% of total Entry Fees - One Year New Artist Membership or Renewal ($619 value) - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom in Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* Second Prize - 5% of total Entry Fees - $50 Artwork Network Gift Certificate - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom in Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* Third Prize - $25 Artwork Network Gift Certificate - Showcase of winning piece at the Artwork Network Showroom in Feb/March 2010 including the March First Friday Artwalk.* *Denver’s First Friday Art Walk garners thousands of art enthusiasts! Exhibition of Winners The top 6 winning pieces will be exhibited in the Artwork Network Showroom from February 17th, 2010 - March 19th, 2010. Work must be received in gallery standard condition—clean with suitable framing, wired for hanging and well cut mats if applicable—no later than February 5th, 2010 to be hung in our showroom. Return shipping must be paid by artist if the work is not sold. Art must be dropped off or shipped at the artist’s expense to: Artwork Network 878 Santa Fe Drive, Suite 2 Denver, CO 80201 303-388-7420 Liability Artwork Network will not assume any responsibility for loss or damages to works while in transit. Artwork Network takes responsible precautions to protect the premises and art, however, Artwork Network assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of art due to theft, vandalism, or accident. Retrieval All work must be picked up no later than 5pm MST on March 25th, 2010. Unsold work that was shipped to Artwork Network will be return shipped at the artist’s expense no later than March 25th, 2010. How to Enter Work must be submitted via the Artwork Network website here. Payment will be accepted via credit card over the phone (303.388.7420) or through Paypal. Payment information and a link will be emailed upon receipt of your entry. This information will include: Full Name Street address Phone Number Email Address Where/how you heard about the juried show Each piece must have the following information: Title Medium Size Price Please indicate: One of a kind, Limited Edition, Open Ended Edition You may also include a short description about your piece, it's meaning or your motivation. Images must be in JPEG format! Digital Requirements: Please send JPG/JPEG files, and crop out any mats or frames. It is important to have a quality digital representation of your work as all pieces will be judged by this digital representation. Pricing and Sale of Artwork All entries may be priced and available for sale for the duration of the online show. Winning artwork displayed in the showroom must be offered for sale. Interested buyers must contact Artwork Network. Artwork Network will help coordinate shipping and sales and will invoice the buyer directly. Artist will be responsible for packing and shipping artwork purchased online to the buyer. Artwork Network collects 20% of the sale price as commission and handles all sales tax at the current Denver, CO rate. Artist can expect payment within one month from date of payment from buyer. Artist is responsible for managing their business, taxes, reporting and accounting. Artwork Network is not responsible for taxes or income reporting on behalf of the Artist. Artist indemnifies and holds Artwork Network harmless for any failures to accurately report or pay Artist taxes. Right of Refusal Artwork Network has the right to refuse any work that is offensive, damaged, improperly framed or fails to meet entry requirements.
